“It has become a regular worry of all parents (that own a TV) that their kids will stumble upon a program or two with gratuitous sex or violence. The biggest problem with cable television is that there is no way to actually prevent your kids from watching the programs. Even with the cable rating system it still does not actually keep your kids from watching the programs. At best, the cable TV rating system (I.E. TV-M and TV-14) shows the parent what shows may or may not be appropriate for their kids to be watching.
