Fruit-Top Cake
2 9-inch Cake Layers, see here: Cake Layers
Canned frosting
1 can (8¼ ounces) pineapple slices, drained
1 small banana, cut into thin slices
6 to 8 maraschino cherries
Snow White's Sugar Glaze (see SnowWhite's Sugar Glaze)
What you do with it:
1. Place 1 cake layer on a plate. Spread with some of the frosting, then put the other cake layer on top.
2. Frost the side of the cake, Don't frost the top!
3. Place the pineapple rings on top of the cake in a circle around the edge.
4. Pile the banana slices in the center of the cake. Top the cake with the cherries.
5. Pour the glaze on top of the fruit. Let it set for 1 hour before serving the cake.
